President

 Mahyar has supported GSRC for seven years and stepped into the role of President in 2025. Acts as the ultimate ambassador for the club. Chairs the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Provides constitutional guidance to the committee. 

Captain

 Iain has been instrumental in the club since its inception. 

• Sets the overall athletic goals for the season. 
• Manages boat allocations and equipment logistics. 
• Oversees crew selections for regattas and head races in conjunction with the Head Coach. 

Head Coach

 Russell joined GSRC in January 2026 following a successful coaching career in the USA.

•  Serves as the technical leader responsible for athlete development and performance. 
• Designs training programmes for all squads. 
• Delivers on-water and land-based coaching sessions.
•  Collaborates with the Captain on crew selection. 
• Mentors and develops assistant and volunteer coaches. 

Joint Vice President & Membership Secretary

 Donald has been involved with the club since 2018. 

• Provides strategic support to the executive committee and steps in when the President is unavailable. 
• Leads special projects and sub-committees. 
• Assists with external stakeholder and alumni relations. 
• Supports long-term fundraising and sponsorship initiatives. 
• Maintains up-to-date club membership records. 

Treasurer & Secretary

 David has been involved with GSRC since 2020 and currently holds two key positions.


As Treasurer, he: 

• Manages the club budget and bank accounts. 
• Collects membership fees and rack rentals. 
• Pays invoices, insurance premiums, and affiliation fees.
•  Produces regular financial reports for the committee.  

As Secretary, he: 

• Organises committee meetings and prepares agendas. 
• Records and distributes official meeting minutes. 
• Handles official club correspondence and enquiries. 

Joint Vice President

 Debbie has been involved with the club since 2014. 

• Provides strategic support to the executive committee alongside Donald, stepping in when the President is unavailable. 
• Leads special projects and sub-committees. 
• Assists with external stakeholder and alumni relations. 
• Supports long-term fundraising and sponsorship initiatives. 

Child Welfare & Protection Officer

 Claire has been involved with the club since 2022. Acts as the designated lead for safeguarding and protecting junior members. 

• Ensures compliance with national governing body welfare policies. 
• Serves as the first point of contact for any safety or welfare concerns. 
• Maintains confidential records of reported incidents. 
• Verifies background checks for coaches and volunteers alongside Donald.
